Schools take action on nutrition

School staff from across WA recently participated in a nutrition PD day organised by Crunch&Sip, WA Health Promoting Schools Association, Refresh.ED, WA School Canteen Association, and Foodbank WA.

The hands-on workshop encouraged attendees to identify nutrition concerns in their school, set goals for taking action, and develop strategies to make these goals a reality. They also heard from a number of inspiring educators who spoke about the nutrition initiatives happening at their schools.

School representatives completed a school nutrition audit, heard from organising agencies about the tools and resources they can offer schools, and perhaps most importantly, enjoyed some delicious and nutritious food catered by WA School Canteen Association (including the surprisingly tasty chocolate kidney bean muffins).

Thanks to all the wonderful school staff who attended!
